I've been using the ASUS G750 as my main computer for work and entertainment for a couple of months now. This review will be more like an operating experience. I have a lot to say about this powerful belly with a 17-inch screen. There are 4 legs on the bottom of the case, thanks to which the laptop stands very stable on the table. Of course, it seems to me that even something very slippery and uneven weighing 5 kg will stand quite steadily on the table.

Yes, weight is one of the key disadvantages of the beast. I understand everything - powerful hardware, an effective cooling system, a 17-inch screen... But I simply cannot lift 5 kg. I tried...honestly! On the other hand, the large dimensions made it possible to accommodate a full-size keyboard with an additional numeric keypad and backlight. The size of the touchpad is also reaching a record level. On the left side there is a card reader, a Blu-ray drive, two USB 3.0 ports and a lock. On the right side there is a 3.5 mm headphone input, a microphone input, two USB 3.0 ports, Mini DisplayPort, full-size HDMI, Ethernet, VGA and a power supply jack.

In my opinion, the back of the laptop looks the coolest. There are two beautiful holes for exhausting hot air. A very successful design solution that gives the laptop an aggressive look. By the way, thanks to such a massive cooling system, the laptop almost never runs at full CO volume.

The thickness of the laptop cover can be compared with some ultrabook models from the same manufacturer. It features the Republic of Gamers and ASUS logos. By the way, the ROG logo is illuminated during the game, which also looks very impressive during gaming parties. The screen itself is slightly recessed into the lid, which does not in any way affect the usability of the screen, but cleaning it is a little stressful, since dust gets stuck in the corners.

Screen

If we talk about the quality of the screen, then there are both pros and cons. A definite advantage is the size, resolution and matte finish. In my opinion, the ideal set for convenient gaming is just a 17-inch screen and a resolution of 1080 p. The screen can operate at a frequency of up to 120 hertz, which also has a very good effect on the pleasure of the game. Another advantage that is often overlooked is the 3D capabilities. I'm telling you as someone who replayed almost half of Batelfield 4 just because it feels a little different in 3D. The minimum and maximum brightness indicators were also encouraging.

The only thing I can find fault with is the viewing angles, which usually suffer with TN matrices. The vertical view is especially disappointing. At a certain viewing angle, a complete color inversion occurs. Horizontally everything is OK. You need to get used to it, which is the most correct display color and brightness occurs in a slightly more open state than in all other laptops.

Performance

It’s clear that such a laptop is bought for maximum performance. My G750JH laptop has a processor Intel Core i7 4700HQ, which has a nominal clock speed of 2.4 GHz. When everything is bad, you haven’t left the house for the third day, playing Watch Dogs, Turbo Boost up to 3.2 GHz can turn on. So that no one finds it enough, RAM here 32 GB. The hybrid video subsystem operates in two modes. If you game, the laptop uses a discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M. When your work comes down to flipping through tabs in the browser, the Intel HD Graphics 4600 works. Autonomy

At maximum graphics and performance settings, you can play Bioshok Infinite for just under 2 hours without a power outlet. Overall, this is a good result for a gaming laptop. Despite the fact that this is still a laptop, you can’t count on high autonomy with such a processor and video card.

Sound

So you understand, the ASUS G750 has a subwoofer, fortunately, the dimensions allow it. The main speakers are hidden in the body. The overall impression of the sound falls a little short of expectations. It seemed to me that since the body is so huge, everything should sound impressively loud and bassy. Yes, the sub adds zest to the sound, but I didn’t notice a significant difference from desktop speakers. Another thing is the sound in the headphones. Thanks to the built-in headphone preamplifier, listen to music at maximum volume in good headphones you can't. I listened to electronic music, progressive rock music and watched movies. For headphones I tried MONSTER Inspiration, SteelSeries SIDERIA V2 and Klipsch earbuds. In all cases, I was very pleased with the volume and sound density of the Republic of Gamers gaming mouse, NVIDIA branded 3D glasses, cleaning cloth and backpack. I had pretty high hopes for the capacity of the ROG backpack, but it turned out to be very simple. I placed a laptop and a power supply there, and there was only room left for a book and a mouse. In my case, it’s difficult to fit a lunch container in there. I have to choose between taking lunch or taking my laptop, which is a tough choice that I don't want to make! On the other hand, if you're a fan of the brand, ASUS has some really cool backpack options that can fit me and all my food.

This is a powerful laptop. Without any compromises in the form of high autonomy and mobility. It’s big, heavy, and doesn’t last as long on a single battery charge as we’d like, but who cares if the most powerful hardware is installed here? And the cover of the socket for connecting an external GPS antenna closes this chain. The connector itself is small and quite fragile, so the user will have to handle it very carefully.

The top side is ideally empty, which allows you to pay attention to the elegance of the design, not burdened by the rudeness of functionality. But, seriously, the large concentration of various types of wireless communications simply obliged developers to provide top part communicator for their modules and antennas, which deprived it of additional expansion elements.

The lid closes tightly, without any play, but I was a little surprised by the discrepancy between the sides of its upper edges and the plastic of the case. It expands slightly due to the locks of the upper part, which spoils the overall impression of the quality of fit of the elements.

At the top of the rear panel there is a small chrome plated area with small discreet feet on the sides to prevent scratches. On it there is a group of holes for the system speaker and a non-closeable glass of the 3.2 MP camera.

Under the battery compartment cover there is a fairly large Li-Ion battery. Underneath there is a slot for a SIM card. There is also a rather informative sticker of specifications and additional technical information about this model.

Summing up the general description of the external image of the ASUS P750 communicator, we can clearly summarize the qualitatively convenient and well-thought-out ergonomics of this model, the full equipment with expansion connectors and their<правильноудобном>location. There are still a couple of comments in our meticulous analysis. There is a slight play in the numeric keypad and a slight mismatch between the joint lines of the cover covering the battery compartment and the PDA body. Plus a small incident in the incorrect specification on the manufacturer’s website (in terms of the expansion card connector). But such little things should not affect the overall impression of this model.

At first impression, the display size did not seem to us the best choice for such a serious model. Having worked a little with the test subject, and most importantly, having practically assessed its overall dimensions, we can confidently assure the buyer that we have achieved the only optimal and correct balance between ease of use and information content of the 2.6" TFT matrix installed in the ASUS P750 model.
