Tricolor TV is confidently expanding its customer base. In Russia, more than 50% of the market uses its services, and this is a very high figure. This scope is not surprising, because the company offers an extensive list of opportunities for its clients, and they relate not only to viewing television channels, but also access to the Internet in Smart TV mode.

To ensure operation, the company uses only the best equipment: receivers, antennas, modules, access cards, etc. In addition, there is software that needs to be updated regularly to remain in the same excellent condition. How to update software Tricolor TV modules without the help of specialists, we will now try to tell you.

Groups of equipment that regularly require updates

There are more than three dozen receivers on the official website of Tricolor TV. But you don't have to search long to install the right software for each of them. It comes out on a group basis, you just need to find out which group your device belongs to.

The module versions have minor but noticeable differences, so when choosing, you need to know which Tricolor module you have. More information about this can be found on the official website in the “Help” section. For example, let's look at some groups:

    GS receivers. This group includes receivers GS – U210, E212, B210-212;

    DRE/DRS receivers. These are modifications of devices 4000, 5000, 5001, 5003 and 7300. Their function is to receive and produce free and encrypted Tricolor TV channels;

Module ci and ci+. It is a module conditional access, since it comes with a smart card for viewing content on an encrypted TV channel.

CI Device Features

The ci module has some unique characteristics that set it apart from other reception attachments satellite channels. The size of the device is minimal, which greatly simplifies working with it. But this module cannot be installed on all TVs, but only on modern models that provide a CI or CI+ port. If it is not there, then you will not be able to connect to satellite television using this device.

If there is still a port, then connecting the CI module to watch satellite television is not difficult. In order to do this, you need to carefully place the smart card in the slot that is on the TV. It is desirable that the receiver is already built-in, which allows you to save on the purchase of other equipment.

Another important nuance is that the cam module is selected based on the encoding. In particular, the configuration requires the latest version of the module. It is advisable to choose the “DRECrypt” format, which is guaranteed to allow you to connect and set up high-quality HD television.

Preparing for the update

Before starting the update, a number of procedures should be carried out that will keep the TV intact, otherwise the user risks being left with an updated module, but a non-working TV.

First of all, you need to check the correctness of the software version, and for this the following steps are taken:

Wait until the necessary information appears on the monitor.

    Preparation of receiving equipment:

    The receiver turns off by pressing the power button and disconnecting it from the network;

The last point is to turn on the power button on the front panel, and “Standby” on the remote control.

If you have successfully completed this procedure, you can proceed to the next stage, namely, the update.

Software update via satellite

It is not so difficult to update yourself, especially if you do it via satellite, which means you do not use any third-party tools or devices. But there is only one condition - in order for these actions to be carried out, the TVs must be connected to a satellite dish.

    Before starting the update, the user needs to enable the Telemaster service. There are cases that for some reason a service is not displayed among the list of channels. If this is the case, then you need to search again and then it should appear;

    Instead of searching for channels, a message may appear that the TV needs to update the module software. In this case, you need to confirm the action for the procedure to begin;

    As soon as confirmation is given, a message will appear on the TV screen stating that the update has started and its progress will be shown;

    It is important to monitor the screen to adjust the updated processes if necessary, but quite often everything happens automatically;

At the end of the procedure, the module will automatically restart. But if this does not happen, the restart procedure can be done manually. Then the changes that have been made will be fixed in the system.

The process is short, but when it is going on, you won’t be able to watch channels. When the procedure is finished, it is advisable to check whether the software version has changed to make sure that the changes were successful. In addition, it is very important not to turn off the TV while the update is running, do not remove the smart card or turn off the receiver. If you do this, the consequences will be catastrophic.

You probably already know that there are various inexplicable glitches with Tricolor modules. I think it’s time to figure out the modules and especially the new product, the Delgado self-tuning CAM module.

I’ll start, as always, with an eye to the modules, so to speak, thoughts.

It’s not news that now the tricolor CI+ module itself is used on modern TVs with a built-in satellite tuner (Samsung, LG, Sony, Philips), as well as some alternative satellite receivers.

However, I found out something for myself regarding CI+ modules from tricolor. As we know, there are the first CI+ without light bulbs and they are mostly problem-free. But there is an open marriage!

There are three module options with Delgado LEDs in stores.

Two options in blue design and one in red. In red they come with new firmware and on TVs they can scan channels according to the operator’s list, i.e. Like, a separate profile is created on the TV.

You can make two lists, under one profile the channel layout is like the operator’s and the second is arbitrary and you can sort it yourself as you wish.

Switch between profiles from the channel list. IN lately Blue Delgado modules have appeared on sale, identical in appearance to the first Delgado, but their firmware is the same as on the red modules.

New module, blue with indicator.

So, for this module to work on the receiver, it is imperative that the receiver boots on the tricolor channel, in this case there are no problems.

But if you load the receiver on an open channel or, for example, on NTV+ and then switch to Tricolor, this module will not work until you reset it to the factory settings in the menu.

Keep this in mind when purchasing modules!

The new modules are great for TV; when you turn it on, it immediately offers to create a “Tricolor TV” profile. For example, if you have many satellites and an enigma receiver, then with the new module you need to assign a start channel when loading from tricolor.

Then there will be no problems.

However, let's continue about the Delgado self-adjusting CAM module

Self-adjusting official CAM module from Tricolor TV with support for HD and Ultra HD packages. For those who don’t know, I’ll tell you a “big secret”: now Tricolor TV can be watched not only on specialized receivers.

Here for specialized ones, I think, which are expensive and, at the same time, frankly rather bad.

And so, the Delgado self-tuning CAM module is suitable for modern TVs with a built-in satellite tuner (Samsung, LG). In addition to tagos in some alternative receivers (for example, Openbox S3 CI+, AS4K CI+, AS4K PRO, Vu+ Uno 4K SE, Solo 4K, Ultimo 4K).

In my reviews, the module is sold complete with a smart card, which includes a subscription to the Unified Ultra HD package for 7 days.

There are 6 Ultra HD channels, 30 HD channels, about 200 TV channels in normal quality, 12 branded cinemas and more than 35 radio stations. As I understand it, Tricolor extends the Unified Ultra HD package for a year and it costs 2,000 rubles.

As I already wrote, a new smart access card CI+ DRE CRYPT 4K is included in the package with the module. Electronic conditional access module Conditional Access Module CI+ 4K ( Current version Module software SW 1.0.0)

I WILL NOTE What new version Tricolor TV module with card (On previously released modules, channels in formats exceeding high definition Ultra HD 4K).

Well, it’s as always, they’ll come up with something new, in their opinion, and buy all sorts of hardware again!

But it’s good that Tricolor TV already has seven Ultra HD (4K) channels available, and this list of ultra-clear channels is constantly growing:

“Channel One Ultra HD”, “Series UHD”, “Russian Extreme 4K”, “Cinema Ultra HD”, “INSIGHT UHD”, “Fashion One 4K” and “Ultra HD Cinema”

If we talk about the Unified Ultra HD package, then of course, if desired, the user can subscribe to other Tricolor TV packages (Night, Children's, Football).

Of course, it’s good that if you have a compatible TV, you don’t need a satellite receiver; control is done with one TV remote control.

What does the fancy word “self-tuning” module mean?

You simply install the module into the TV slot to which you are connected satellite dish. Of course, the antenna must be tuned to the Eutelsat satellite 36 degrees.

And lo and behold, after a few seconds the TV will offer to automatically find Tricolor TV channels. That is, there is now no fuss with manually entering transponder frequencies, as was the case with previous versions of Tricolor TV modules.

Fast, simple and convenient.

Just for fun, I installed the new Delgado CAM module on an LG TV (LED 2014), the function automatic settings worked correctly.

However, it is IMPOSSIBLE to guarantee that the module will self-adjust on all models of TVs of different brands!

Please note: the module only works in slots that support CI+.

For TVs this is not a problem; all modern models support CI+, but satellite receivers Such support is quite rare.

As I already noted, those known to me are Openbox S3 CI+, Formuler F4 Turbo, S4 PRO+, S6 PRO+, SX4 Base, SX4, SX6, SX9, AS1, AS2, AS4K, VU+ Solo SE, Solo2, Zero 4K, Uno 4K, Solo 4K, Ultimo 4K.

Unfortunately, all other popular Linux devices do not yet support CI+.

The Delgado self-adjusting CAM module differs from previous versions by a sticker on the front part and the presence of a diode light bulb.

With its help, it is convenient to determine whether the initialization of the module in the slot of the TV or satellite receiver was successful.

If there are problems, the diode lights up red, if everything is fine - green.

In addition, the module works on the basis of new libraries and, as the Tricolor operator assures, compatibility with various models TVs.

As I already noted, basic receivers for Tricolor TV have rather modest characteristics, relatively few capabilities and a very high cost.

Often, alternative receivers beat them in all respects. In addition, it is especially beneficial to use the Tricolor TV HD CAM module in new TVs with a built-in satellite tuner.

The module has some limitations:

— you can watch 1 channel + use the timeshift function
- you can record and view the same channel
— recordings of TV programs made by the CI+ module cannot be played back on a computer or other receivers.

It looks like the series is about watching high definition channels through modules DRE access MPEG4 and Viaccess continues and despite all the efforts of the technical service of JSC NSK, the owners of such devices again have the opportunity to watch the channels of the Tricolor - Maximum HD package.

These articles are not a call to action or instructions for use, this information is provided for informational and educational purposes only!!!

1. Modernization of the DRECrypt MPEG-4 module for receiving HD channels of Tricolor TV

For now, this will be done by specialists who have CPLD EJTAG programmers (LPT version of the EJTAG Tiny Tools programmer - Combined with an SPI programmer). And most likely, with the next software change, it will be necessary to re-flash the modules (although subscribers are accustomed to frequent updates- “to improve quality”).

On popular forums (in particular, the forum of the TeleSputnik magazine) advertisements appeared for the sale of already modified DRE MPEG4 modules with Tricolor Full HD access cards, through which it is officially possible to view high-definition channels of the “people's” Operator, because using them, it is possible to extend the subscription to the “Maximum HD” package. Block viewing again of this package on the modules, the Operator will only be able to temporarily if he carries out a software update for the GS-8306 receivers, similar to what was carried out quite recently. And this is hardly possible in the near future.

Below we explain what needs to be done in order to “revive” extinct HD channels for the user of the “tricolor” module.

How to reflash and replace flash memory in DRE MPEG-4 modules from Tricolor TV.

DRE MPEG-4 modules use the AT25DF161-SH-T memory chip manufactured by Atmel. Retail price in Moscow in Chip and Dip stores is 73 rubles. If you need to replace it to reflash the dump with current ADEC keys, do the following:

1. We assemble a programmer circuit from a 25-pin printer connector, 4 resistors, a capacitor, and a 3-3.7 volt battery (or power supply).

Wiring of the connector inserted into the LPT port of the printer:

The length of the cable from the connector to the board (can be assembled “on the knee”, without a board) is strictly 15-20 cm. View of the assembled programmer (the breadboard and battery holder were also purchased from Chip and Dip):

Download the software and unpack it somewhere, there is the hp_usb_tool program and the dos and usb_flash folders. Download

Detailed instructions with screenshots. Download

1. Install the program hp_usb_tool

2. Launch hp_usb_tool to create bootable flash drive with parameters File system: FAT32 Create a DOS startup disk using DOS system files located at:(point to the dos folder)

3. Copy the contents of the folder to the root of the flash drive usb_flash

4. Boot from a flash drive

Commands: spipgm /i - identify yourself.

spipgm /p new.rom - flash the correct firmware.

spipgm /v new.rom - check the correspondence between what is written in the flash and the firmware file.

When the chip is ready, we disassemble the CAM module. Use a cardboard knife or just a sharp knife to separate spot welding in two places (one is possible) on the connector side, pull out the board. Remove the flash chip with a hairdryer service center for repairing cell phones, the price of work is 100-500 rubles.

We solder the previously stitched microcircuit onto 6 MGTF 0.25 wires 5-6 cm long. There is no need to connect pins 7 and 8; they are connected to pin 3 on the board. The wires pass through the slot in the tin case without any problems. There is no need to saw or cut anything. Having assembled the case, we fasten it with transparent tape and use it.

Solder the wires.

Tricolor TV HD channels are available again through modules.

So, the essence of the issue is this: both the recommended receivers for viewing Maximum HD channels and the currently not recommended DRE NKE MPEG-4 CAM modules use the common NKE-1 chip from Neotion.

This chip allows for decoding of paid channels that use DRE-Crypt 3.0/ADEC encoding when working together with the required access card. That is, all equipment that was previously used to open HD channels uses the same circuit design.

This omission later made it possible to disassemble the commands responsible for participating in channel decoding and apply them in software for CAM modules, but more on that later. And here a logical question arises - why is it still possible to watch channels on one equipment, but not on another? The NKE-1 chip standard uses external memory, into which the instructions used by it for operation can be loaded, and in general, thanks to this, it is possible to change the functioning algorithm, so to speak, use overcrypt. As a result, initially CAM modules were not equipped with all the instructions for DRE-Crypt 3.0/ADEC encoding.

And for recommended receivers, in the absence of such instructions, the software was updated via satellite. Thus, the Tricolor TV operator deliberately refused to update the software of its CAM modules that support this capability, and simply called them, in short, non-recommended equipment.

How did you manage to find a solution to this problem?

Since Tricolor TV, after free testing of its HD channels included in the Maximum HD (Tricolor Full HD) package on CAM modules, did not encounter any significant problems, it subsequently implemented this solution in its recommended receiver models without significant changes in circuit design. Accordingly, the commands used to decode TV channels in the new modification of the DRE-Crypt 3.0/ADEC encoding can be used both on DRE NKE MPEG-4 CAM modules and on recommended receivers. As a result, after some manipulations with the internal software (dumps) for CAM modules, a new modification from folk craftsmen appeared.

How can I modify the CAM module software?

Currently, memory dumps have been posted for CAM modules versions 4010 and 4020, which were once sold together with Tricolor TV access cards - 23 and 24 series. To change the software, you need to carefully open the module case, remove the board from it, use a hot air gun to remove the flash memory chip - Atmel AT25DF161, flash it with a new dump on the programmer and after installing it on the board, assemble everything in the reverse order. Memory dumps for DRE NKE MPEG-4 CAM modules can already be found on many specialized Internet resources that discuss this issue. If you cannot perform these manipulations, then you can look for a specialist who will provide assistance or change your module to an already modified one, simply paying the difference for the work.

What else is needed to watch HD channels, besides a modified module?

Tricolor TV series 23 and 24 access cards sold together with the CAM module had limited subscriptions to the services provided by the operator. That is, they initially did not plan to operate a separate subscription to HD TV channels. This could have been established a long time ago, when users of such cards tried to officially subscribe to the Maximum HD TV channel package, but the operator using the DRE ID card number immediately turned down all these attempts and they simply ended in failure. After completing the test broadcast of channels in high definition, Tricolor TV immediately changed the subscription class for viewing them and all cards from CAM modules simply cannot open them anymore, even if such cards are used in receivers recommended by the operator.

How can I resolve the issue with the HD channel subscription class of my access card?

Now, this problem can be solved quite simply - purchase the most inexpensive, but recommended Tricolor TV satellite receiver together with an access card to view the Maximum HD package. For example, you can choose the GS 8305 model, and it doesn’t matter that this receiver has negative reviews. After this, the equipment is officially registered with the activation of the access card, which is subsequently removed from the receiver and it is put away in a safe storage location. Next, such an access card is installed in a modified CAM access module and used on your favorite satellite receiver.

That is, the smart cards that were sold with modules will no longer open HD channels?

As already mentioned above, such access cards of the 23 or 24 series simply do not have a subscription class for viewing the Maximum HD package, so without certain tricks this issue cannot be corrected. Over time, when the DRE-Crypt 3.0/ADEC encoding algorithm is studied, it is possible that the commands responsible for working with subscription classes will be revealed, as a result of which it will be possible to modify the recorded data on the card. Also, there is another option - since smart cards are the property of the operator, and based on the fact that he does not have 13 series cards left and those that were sold together with CAM modules DRE NKE MPEG-4, then if it fails , he can replace it with a modern version.

What else can the Tricolor TV operator do?

Since the DRE-Crypt 3.0/ADEC encoding has not yet been fully studied and disclosed, the operator can continue to use its hidden modifications. As a result, for the recommended receivers this will simply end with a standard software update from the satellite, after which they will continue to open HD TV channels, as if nothing had happened before. For CAM modules, you will need to edit the memory dump and then flash them into manual mode. This operation will help facilitate a special interface that will allow you to reflash modules without disassembling them and removing the flash memory chip; searches are now being made in this direction. Moreover, we should not forget that even a magician sometimes runs out of hidden “cards” in his sleeve. So Tricolor TV, after opening all its available “cards”, will simply be left with nothing.

Returning to the topic of flashing a dump on AT25DF161-SH-T flash memory with current ADEC keys on CAM modules DRE NKE 4020 and 4010 to view the package from Tricolor HD, I’ll add how to correctly reset the previous dump from a soldered flash drive:

During the first programming, we “reset” the flash memory chip completely, for which we disconnect pin 3 of the microcircuit (WP) from the positive power supply and “set” it to pin 4 (minus). Next, using the hp_usb_tool program, use the spipgm/u command to “reset” the microcircuit, use the spipgm/e command to erase all previous information, and use the spipg/p command to rename the firmware file, for example, DRE.bin. After this, we record a new dump with the current ADEC keys. When programming is finished, “return” electrical diagram programmer back (i.e. we connect pin 3 of the microcircuit to power) and verify the recorded dump using the spipgm/i (identification) and spipgm/v new.rom commands to see if it matches the firmware recorded in the flash and the dump file.

But this photo is a fact to think about one “filling” of different CAMs.

Single-program conditional access module CAM MPEG-4 DRE Crypt NKE/CASv.3 DRE-3

Refers to products whose platform is developed on the products of the new Neotion line. The sticker says With DRE CRYPT Conditional Access MPEG-4. The basis of the circuit design of the DRE NKE CAM module is the Neotion NKE-1 chip. The module supports CAS DRE Crypt 3.0. Today two modifications of DRE NKE are known: 4010 (P/N:PRD-MCD2-4010 M:12 D:...) and 4020(P/N:PRD-MCD2-4020 M:12 D:...) secondly, compatibility with receiving equipment (receivers, televisions) has been improved. The modification of the module can be found out by looking at the reverse side.

(In 2011, mainly 4010 were produced, in 2012 already 4020. DRE NKE modules did a good job of decoding HD channels, but for various reasons (copyright compliance, write protection of HD content, or other reasons), they were not recommended equipment to watch HD channels of Tricolor TV.

Here is a quote from the office. Tricolor TV release on this matter: "...However, after the introduction of additional signal encryption, which is a mandatory requirement of TV channels, we DO NOT GUARANTEE further viewing of HD TV channels on DRE conditional access modules..."

The module is designed to receive television and radio channels in MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 formats, protected by the DRE Crypt conditional access system. Recommended for operation of 14-digit DRE ID smart cards “Tricolor TV” of the type xx0023xx..xx and xx0024xx…xx. Functionality: Descrambling TV and radio channels Standard Definition (SD) with resolution up to 576i, (HD) up to 1080i Support TV and radio channels in MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 format Support transport stream bitrate up to 72 Mbps Descrambling one TV or radio channel at a time.

2. Conversion of the Viaccess CAM module into the DRE-Crypt HD CAM module

To begin with, I would like to note the fact that I have never been a programmer. And all the talk about the fact that I flashed something, uploaded something, etc. - this, alas, is not about me. I don’t even know how to do this yet))). Well, the experiment that I will describe below came to mind a long time ago, I just got around to it only now. So, an ordinary VIACCESS module was purchased.

In modern society, it is difficult to meet a family that does not use satellite television. Connecting a satellite dish is one of the best solutions to watch TV channels, taking into account the favorable tariffs of operators. The highest quality and therefore the most popular provider is Tricolor TV. It is important to understand that satellite television is a program that needs to be rebooted and updated (firmware). Today we will look at how you can update the Tricolor module software yourself.

Tricolor TV regularly releases updates for its software. You need to monitor them on the company’s official website so that your CI module does not fail. This procedure does not take much time and completely free for registered users.

CI is a built-in module; the software is necessary for safe and high-quality broadcasting of closed channels.

Another reason why it is necessary to monitor the release of new module software is that users who have missed one or more versions of the update will not be able to carry out the procedure themselves.

Software update instructions

Any company values its customers and takes care of their comfort by expanding or improving its services. Likewise, Tricolor TV is constantly working to improve its service. For high-quality and uninterrupted operation of your receiver, you must regularly monitor the release of new software. So, even 2016 GS receivers need to be updated to the latest firmware version 2017. Of course, no one wants to take their device to a service center.

Do not forget that if you miss one update, you will have to take the receiver to a service center, since it will be impossible to carry out the procedure yourself.

Software update message

So how can you update the Tricolor module software yourself? This is quite simple to do, the main thing is to follow the instructions:

  1. If your receiver is working, then reboot the device, if it is turned off, turn it on.
  2. The next step is to turn on the Tricolor TV channel on your TV.
  3. The company does everything for the convenience of its customers, so the software update window will pop up on its own after a while.
  4. In the selection menu you need to click the “yes” icon. In order not to go to the provider’s website, you can use this method to learn about new updates in a timely manner.
  5. You will start the update process, the progress of which you can see on your screen. The average waiting time is 5 minutes.
  6. After the latest version is installed, the receiver will reboot itself.
  7. After turning on the TV, it is worth checking. To do this, return to the Tricolor channel and check your version with the specified update on the official website.

If all the steps are completed correctly and everything matches, then in the near future you can forget about broadcast failures. Your TV will show like a clock.

If, when you turn on the firmware, your receiver does not respond to the remote control signal, do not be alarmed. Just turn it on using the “standby” button on the device itself.

Remember that you will have to perform the update process regularly. If for some reason you forgot or were unable to update the firmware, contact the service center.
