iOS 10.0 1 all features.

Home / Breakdowns

Despite the lack of decisiveness that was the case with the transition to iOS 7, Apple is clearly committed to the development of a new design in . If in iOS 7 the approach to interface design was minimalism and modesty of elements, then in iOS 11 it’s the other way around – maximalism and self-confidence. In applications and service windows, we see a reduction in information content, large, enlarged search window headers, and bolder typography throughout.

But there are also more subtle changes in design. Here is a list of changes in the user interface design of iOS 11, compared to iOS 10. The screenshots on the left are from iOS 10, and the screenshots on the right are from iOS 11.

iOS 10 vs iOS 11: Visual changesinterface

1. Association screenlock and notification center

When we turn on the device, we're greeted by perhaps the most noticeable design detail of iOS 11 compared to iOS 10. In the transition to iOS 10, Apple made a splash when it introduced a completely redesigned lock screen. In iOS 11, they did something different, at the moment something not entirely clear and discouraging.

Cupertino decided to combine the Lock Screen with the Notification Center into a single whole. Thus, all notifications that received while the device remained locked are displayed on the lock screen. By swiping up in the middle of the screen, you can view all previous notifications.

There are too many swipe gestures and I don't really like the idea of combining two utility functions on one screen. I hope that over the next three months Apple will refine this concept before releasing the final version of iOS.

2. Current track on the lock screen

Now, when you listen to music, the current track is displayed on the Lock Screen (essentially, on the Notification Center screen) as an information card and does not take up the entire screen space.

Thus, it becomes possible to view received notifications, even if at that moment you are listening to your music tracks. With a swipe gesture you can also view all notifications from your history.

3. Unlock animation

In iOS 11, for the first time, animation is used when unlocking the device. When you press the Home button, the lock screen lifts up like a curtain, revealing the home screen. And since the Lock Screen is now combined with the Notification Center, such an animation is quite appropriate.

4. Home screen

The Home Screen has not undergone any significant changes, but there are some. First of all, new wallpapers and new status bar icons. The most obvious difference is that the names of applications and folders in the dock have disappeared. Thanks to this, we managed to reduce the height of the dock by a couple of pixels.

5. RedesignedControl Center

Thank you very much for returning to the idea of placing all the elements of the Control Center on one page. The buttons are now located on a dark background, the Center itself occupies the entire screen, and the tiled controls now support 3D Touch and, when pressed harder, can now display more detailed information or advanced options for a particular function.

6. Application drawer iMessage

Apple has redesigned the iMessage app drawer. Now it's easier to find and use. Applications appear as icons at the bottom of the conversation that expand when you tap them. You can scroll through them with a swipe gesture, and by clicking on the icon you can launch the selected application.

7. RedesignedAppStore

Application App Store has been completely redesigned and now looks more like an app Apple Music. Less information content, larger sizes of icons and visual elements.

There are also new separate bookmarks - “App of the Day”, “Games” and “Applications”.

8. Updated interfaceSiri

Has changed significantly user interface Siri. Text and updated replies are now positioned closer to the left edge. The text size itself has been increased and Siri now shows several answer options instead of just one. There is also a clearer button for editing a user-specified question.

9. Redesigned application"Telephone"

Similarly, the design of the Phone application has been significantly redesigned. It now has larger headings and bold titles. There is more space between interface elements and they are now easier to read.

10. Redesigned application"Calculator"

Both the icon and the application interface have been redesigned.

The icon has a more retro look, and the application interface now looks more like the dial pad for the Phone application.

11. Video application interface

The standard Video application in iOS 11 has received visual changes in the interface.

The top and bottom of the video player now use a floating panel style instead of a frosted glass style. iPad will now have more intuitive buttons for switching to picture-in-picture mode and enabling AirPlay.

12. Redesigned Settings app

The top search part of the Settings app now has a larger panel, which is typical of the Settings app's options list page, as well as some high-level service pages, such as Control Center.

13. Status bar redesign

Level icon has changed cellular signal. Now the signal level is shown in sticks rather than dots. The location icon now appears as an outline rather than a shaded icon.

14. Improved app design elements"Notes"

The Notes application now has larger headings and titles.

15. Improved app design elementsSafari

The user interface of the Safari app has become more voluminous, with the URL bar increasing by a couple of pixels. The text in the URL line has received a little more padding on both sides.

16. Improved Calendar app design elements

In the Calendar application, the “Year” line is now more expressive. Headings, again, have become larger and do not invade the text space.

17. Section on disk space management

The "iCloud & Storage" section is now called "iPhone Storage". Its appearance is more reminiscent of the style of a similar section in Mac OS, indicating the space occupied by application data, photos, videos, and more. The data list also indicates the date it was last used.

18. Application bariPad

The application bar on the iPad almost completely replicates the similar application bar on the Mac computer; it looks like it is floating and is called up by swiping up at the bottom of the screen. More than six application icons can be placed, and recently used applications are placed on the right side of the panel.

Expanded lock screen, new notifications, changes to Control Center, new features in the Photos app and more operating system from Apple.

Installation

Installing the new version is quite simple, register using the link https://beta.apple.com/sp/ru/betaprogram/, log in with your account via iPhone, then there are a few simple steps with confirmations, after which you will need to restart the phone, and in the settings you will be able to update to ten. If curiosity doesn’t really gnaw at you, then I still recommend waiting for the full release in the fall.

Supported devices

New iOS 10 will work on the following devices:

Raise to Wake

Interesting feature, only supported on iPhone 6s/6s Plus/SE. The screen turns on as soon as you take the smartphone in your hand, as a result, you immediately have access to notifications on the lockscreen, but you still need to put your finger on the scanner to unlock it. Unfortunately, I have simple iPhone 6, so I suggest you familiarize yourself with this function in a short video from Andrey Baryshnikov from BeardyCast:

Lock screen

The first change you immediately notice is the updated lock screen. Now it is divided into three screens. The central screen displays the clock and notifications. On the left screen you can see a panel of widgets (they are added in the same way as they were previously added to the status bar), and on the right - quick transition to the camera. The transition between screens is carried out using swipes.

The unlocking mechanism itself has also changed. If previously pressing the “Home” button turned on the display, and holding it unlocked the smartphone (on devices with TouchID), now after turning it on and holding it, the message “without locking” appears in the status bar, and you can easily interact with widgets and open the gallery directly from the camera or respond to messages without going to desktops. At the same time, to go to the desktops, you have to press “Home” again. That is, you press the button - the screen turns on, hold it - the “no lock” mode is activated, press it again - go to the desktop. The system is intricate and takes some getting used to. As far as I know, this is done so that users have the opportunity to view notifications on Lockscreen without switching to desktops, since TouchID on the latest iPhones works so quickly that you do not have time to read the notifications.

New notifications

The appearance of the notifications themselves has also changed, they have become larger and more detailed, plus the ability to respond directly from the lock screen has become available by default for all messengers, although the applications should be improved to ensure that the windows are displayed beautifully.

Swiping to the right opens the application itself, and to the left shows options for display. I didn’t really like this option, because to see the message in full, you first need to swipe left, then click on the “view” button. Here Android, with its ability to simply pull down a notification to see the entire text, looks more convenient. AND appearance The windows themselves, in my opinion, are bulky; now much less information fits on the same screen area.

Control Center

The bottom panel has become a little more functional and has changed slightly in appearance. Interface switches now light up blue or red when turned on, a separate key has been added Night Shift, and the music control panel moved to a separate second panel. For users wireless acoustics Now it will be more convenient to switch between the speakers of the speakers or the iPhone itself.

iMessage

iMessage now has its own sets of emoticons, they can be downloaded directly in the messenger itself, they are available in the panel on the left. I can’t help but note that the new menus themselves still look at least strange, they don’t seem to be optimized for the iPhone’s resolution and are slightly flattened.

Now you can give the text a different visual design, make it larger/smaller, attach emoticons to a specific message, etc. They look like useless gadgets, but you get used to them very quickly. And words can now be automatically changed to emoji, to do this you need to open the emoji tab after you have typed the text. Some words will be highlighted in yellow, and when you click on them you will be offered the corresponding emoji.

Music

iTunes has changed the structure of the application, but the functionality remains almost the same. And, of course, I’ll say a few words about the appearance. On at the moment the program looks like it is not optimized for the iPhone resolution, all the elements are very large. In the music remote you can now also configure the music playback source.

Mail

The application has not undergone significant changes, but now all subfolders are visible at once and you don’t need to log into your account to look for them.

Photo

The application has received a number of new functions, for example, it can now detect faces in photographs and create albums with these people. He's doing well, but with some of his friends he released two or three double albums. I also noticed that the program cannot compare photos with glasses with photos without them.

Contacts

The display of contact cards has changed, now the photo is located in the center, and below it there are four buttons: call, messages, video call via FaceTime and email.

Watch

The watch interface has changed a little, the background is now black, the fonts have been slightly changed. A separate sleep mode has appeared, where you can set the desired time of sleep and awakening, it is clear that the alarm clock will wake you up at this time.

Siri API

Third-party applications have access to the Siri API and can now set actions for their programs based on voice commands. If I correctly understood the principle of interaction, then it will look something like this: “Siri, send Roman Belykh photos from Belgrade on Telegram.” Next, Siri understands the command and offers photos from the trip to send to Roman. However, the number of actions for third party applications still limited, you can read more about the restrictions. In short, the following interaction scenarios are currently available to third-party developers:

  • Messages
  • VoIP calls
  • Payments
  • Car rental
  • Search photos
  • Sports training

As you can see, there are a number of important scenarios missing here, such as searching through third-party maps, launching podcasts, launching music or videos, etc. That is, everything that Apple offers to use its applications for.

Home

A smart home allows you to fine-tune and control the behavior of connected devices. Unfortunately, I don’t even have an Apple TV, so I couldn’t check how well this program works.

Notes

Notes can now be shared with other people, and you can also give them permission to view changes to the note.

Uninstalling standard applications

And, of course, the option that we have been waiting for so long! The ability to remove standard applications from desktops is implemented in the same way as third-party ones, you just hold the icon and then click on the cross. If you need the program again later, you can download it from the App Store.

Smart clipboard

In iOS 10 and macOS Sierra there is the ability to synchronize the clipboard, that is, you can write something on the Mac, copy this text, and then paste it onto the iPhone/iPad. At one time, I really missed this function due to the fact that WhatsApp did not have a normal desktop version, but now it has already appeared, so for me personally, although the option looks interesting, it is not particularly in demand.

Conclusion

It's funny to say, but iOS is getting closer to Android in terms of functionality, on the other hand, many functions are implemented in a typical Apple style. Take, for example, access to Siri from third-party developers, it seems to be there, but it is very limited.

On Tuesday, Apple released the final build of the new mobile operating system iOS 10. The platform is characterized by an updated Control Center, a new lock screen, and a redesign of many standard applications. iOS 10 boasts more useful functions, which may not be obvious to the user when first getting acquainted with the OS.

System

1. Return to the usual unlocking method

In iOS 10, by default, after unlocking with your fingerprint, you remain on the lockscreen and are not taken to the home screen. For those who prefer the iOS 9 unlocking style, this can be changed in Settings.

2. Ability to delete all messages in the Notification Center

Clear Instagram notifications up to five days in advance with a hard (or long) press of the X button in Notification Center.

3. Flashlight brightness settings

By pressing firmly on the flashlight icon in the Control Center, you can select the brightness level: strong, medium and weak.

4. Magnifier function

Do you want to make the world around you closer? It is enough to use a new one iOS function 10. Apple has built into the new operating system the best magnifying glass among all applications. Magnification provides a clear and high-quality picture. In order to activate the corresponding function, you need to go to Settings -> General -> Universal Access -> Magnifier

Messages

5. Increasing sticker size

After you have chosen a sticker to send in a message, you can make it larger or smaller with the usual two-finger gesture, and your interlocutor will display it in the size you selected.

6. Use stickers instead of emojis

More like trolling than a hidden feature, of course, but now stickers can be placed on top of everything, including images and emoji. Enough interesting way diversify correspondence.

7. Images are saved separately from attachments

If you are in a group chat where every second someone is sending some kind of attached file, or you just want to separate GIF files from archives, in the desired dialogue, go to the “Information” section and go to the very bottom. All attachments are already sorted into two different categories: images and attachments.

8. Read receipts in every chat

In iOS 10, read receipts became available for every conversation. The corresponding button is located in the same “Information” section.

9. Sending low quality images

Animated stickers and various GIFs take up a lot of space in the iMessage archive over time. To prevent your iPhone's memory from being filled with such content, go to Settings -> Messages and activate low quality mode.

Siri

10. Siri text can be corrected

It often happens that voice assistant Siri doesn't recognize speech correctly. Instead of manually making edits to the text, you can now simply click on the recognized phrase, and Siri itself will offer several similar command options. This way, Siri will get better at recognizing your voice over time.

11. Siri can take selfies

If you ask Siri to take a selfie, the front camera will launch.

Cards

12. Siri, find my car

If your car has Bluetooth or CarPlay, Maps will automatically display its location, tell you when it was last used, and even let you add a photo.

You can also ask Siri, “Where is my car?” to get information about the car’s location and even get directions to it.

13. Public transport settings

For people who frequently use public transport, Apple added in iOS 10 the ability to customize which type of transport should be displayed. For example, you can hide train or ferry routes.

Mail

15. Sorting frequently used email categories

If you have the “Move” function specified in your mail settings by swiping to the left, thanks to machine learning the application will begin to suggest various options message categories. For example, “Coupons and discounts.”

16. Completing topics

iOS 10 introduces Thread Ending, which lets you see all the messages in a conversation, even if some have been moved to other inboxes. If you prefer the newest emails to appear at the top, activate the "Latest email on top" option in Settings -> Mail.

17. Automatic unsubscription from mailings

iOS 10 can detect emails that are automated and prompts you to unsubscribe immediately. Goodbye to searching for the “Unsubscribe” button in the small print at the bottom of a message.

Safari

18. Ability to quickly close all tabs

Do you want to close absolutely all tabs in your browser in one fell swoop? No problem, just hold down the tab access button in the lower right corner on an iPhone or in the upper right corner on an iPad, after which the system will prompt you to close all existing tabs. This operation does not clear your browser history.

19. View and delete individual website data

Want to get rid of a specific cookie or web data? Go to Settings -> Safari -> Add-ons -> Site Data.

Camera and Photo

20. RAW support in third-party applications

With the release of iOS 10, developers have the opportunity to work with images in RAW format. Apple has provided tools that allow you to add the ability to shoot in this format in photo applications.

21. Markup function

The Photos app now allows you to draw something on a photo or screenshot, add text, etc. If you don't like your notes, you can always delete them.

Music

22. New playlist with favorite tracks

With iOS 10 and new Apple app Music company has added a customizable weekly selection of new music based on the user's music preferences. The playlist is updated every Friday, and if desired, you can save it to your own collection.

23. View lyrics

The new version of Apple Music allows you to view song lyrics. To do this, with the mini-player fully open, you need to swipe up. Although Apple announced this feature at WWDC 2016, many users find this feature difficult to find.

24. Space optimization

In older iOS versions Apple tried to implement automatic control the size of the local library. With iOS 10 and Optimize Storage, you can still let the system do it for you, or customize your music collection yourself. At your discretion.

Other changes

25. Ability to save voice messages

26. Sleep mode

In iOS 10 standard application"Clock" has a feature called "Sleep Mode". Apple suggests making the app setup process easier by asking a series of questions. The user is asked to indicate the required number of hours for sleep and active days of the week.

iPad improvements

27. Spotlight anywhere

If your iPad has a Smart Connector or a Bluetooth keyboard is connected to your tablet, you can bring up Spotlight from anywhere on your system with Command + Spacebar. The function also works in Split View mode. Thus, you can display any application in the left panel, even if it is not in the recent list (Command + Tab).

28. Different settings for touch and mechanical keyboards

Auto-correction and automatic capitalization may be useful when using virtual keyboard, but this has nothing to do with the mechanical one. With iOS 10, you can use different settings for the standard and Bluetooth keyboards.

The status of the lock screen has changed radically - users will be able to interact with notifications, icons and the system menu faster and more diversely.

Craig Federighi, head of software development at Apple, showed reporters an innovation in iOS 10 - the “raise to wake” principle. To look at the contents of the lock screen, the user does not need to press a button, just raise the smartphone to eye level so that the system itself understands what is required of it. But if you need to sneak a peek at iPhone screen, lying in a lady's handbag, the old method also works.

Unlocking the system in the “top ten” as a whole is no longer so necessary - you can interact with notifications and widgets without logging in. Apple has significantly improved the 3D Touch interface and actually created an add-on with rich functionality instead of the modest “peek-pop” pair. Not only read and print the answer, but also view logs, reference information, access key functions applications - all this without unlocking the smartphone and launching the software itself. As an example, Federighi opened the map in the Uber app and found his location without leaving the lock screen.

Swiping right in iOS 10 activates quick access to the device's camera, swiping left opens a panel with special widgets - all of which are deeply integrated with 3D Touch. For the sake of speed of information processing, the selection is focused on obtaining quick information about anything, from stock market reports to sports news. The subsection contains information about your own biometrics, fitness successes and tasks for today. Thanks to the “three-dimensional” interface, all this can be configured, switched and operated directly from the lock screen.

The possibilities listed above could be disparagingly called “repetition, duplication” of existing solutions, but the Cupertino team explained that we are talking about changing the global concept of using iOS devices. The speed of interaction with the information space is what is at the forefront, which is why the lock screen contains so many functions. Plus one more, perhaps the most important. The new generation of iOS will receive integrated access to the HomeKit platform, for which the Home application is responsible, also accessible directly from the lock screen.

The user will be able to control all connected devices in their environment, either directly or using custom macros, and fiddling with Siri commands is a thing of the past. See how things are going in the nursery, set a schedule for airing the room, unlock the garage door from afar, etc. iOS 10 on its own, without using third-party applications that developers are in no hurry to write, will be able to report an attempt to break into an apartment or office. And arrange through smart cameras demonstration of the process in live, with the ability to remotely open and close locks, driving an intruder into a trap. Provided that the owner of the premises has previously taken care of equipping it with devices on the HomeKit platform.

iOS 10 will provide access to your “favorite” household appliances, groups of them, and complex microclimate preparation scenarios directly from the lock screen. And all this will immediately become a reality for owners of both iPhone and iPad, and for owners Apple Watch. In the fall, after the release of new models and the operating system update itself.

Perhaps the most noticeable change in iOS 10 is the lock screen. Now many things happen differently. So, iPhone owners 6s and iPhone 6s Plus you don’t even need to press anything to make the smartphone screen come to life: everything happens automatically. Older devices will require you to press the Home button. If you do not have a login password set and are not using Touch ID, then you no longer need to do the usual swipe across the screen to unlock. You just need to press “Home” again.

If your fingerprint scanner is configured and working, then with the first click you will unlock your smartphone. There is an interesting point here: if you lift your finger quickly enough, you will be able to linger on the lock screen, which in fact is no longer locked.

The changes don't stop there. Noteworthy is the new notification design. You can interact with them either using 3D Touch or simply by expanding incoming notifications and choosing from the available actions.

The lock screen now supports moving left and right. To the left of the main screen is the Spotlight search bar and a redesigned widget block. The latter have also changed, become more functional, and now have support for 3D Touch clicks. Well, developers have a reason to create widgets for their applications, because they will be available on the lock screen.

Finally, to the right of the main screen is access to the camera. No more swiping up from the bottom right corner.

Home screen

The need to access the notification center from the lock screen has disappeared. Both notifications and widgets can be viewed immediately, without additional gestures. However, from the home screen and from any application, you can access the redesigned notification center with a standard top-down swipe. There are no surprises here: the widgets have moved, so the main focus is solely on notifications.

It is also worth noting that the design of pop-up notifications from applications has changed. As before, they appear on top, but the animation and appearance are different.

The control center has also been changed. Now it is divided into separate screens. The first one is very similar to what came before. Only the tools for controlling playback are missing. They moved to the next screen of the control center, and there were more of them. In general, the design has changed; the freed up space has made it possible to enlarge the buttons. However, you still cannot configure your own switches.

It is noteworthy that if you have the Shazam application installed, you can launch it directly from the control center, from the playback control screen.

The home screen itself, with its grid of applications, has undergone the least visual changes. Only the animation for opening and closing folders has been updated. However, there is one major innovation here: the ability to hide pre-installed programs in iOS. This happens in much the same way as applications are removed from the App Store. However system programs They simply disappear from the home screen and can be restored at any time. You can hide most of the pre-installed applications.

Of course, to the left of the first home screen there is still Spotlight search, to which widgets have also been added. Now these small additions to programs are available literally anywhere.

New 3D Touch actions have appeared on the home screen and among widgets: Apple has worked hard to further implement this promising feature. 3D Touch can now also be used by application developers, so variable pressure on the screen will be especially popular in the new version of the mobile operating system.

Built-in Applications

Messages

The Messages application, more precisely, its part called iMessage, is probably the main innovation of iOS 10. The possibilities of communication via iMessage have been significantly expanded, some ideas were borrowed from the Apple Watch.

From now on, you can send a picture, pulse, or various graphic effects to your interlocutor. You can even take a new photo and instantly add captions and other decorations that any iOS user needs. You can draw conveniently by turning your smartphone or tablet into landscape mode.

However, the above is only a small part of the innovations. Thus, sending messages can now be accompanied by various visual effects, and information can be transmitted using invisible ink.

There are previews of links, sharing of tracks from Apple Music (the recipient must also have a working subscription to the service), there is even an image search that replaces the keyboard when typing a message.

It seems that the iMessage service in iOS 10 has absorbed absolutely all the trends in network communication. But we haven’t yet mentioned the ability to change the background of the dialog window, install add-ons for iMessage from the App Store, and even leave reactions to incoming messages.

Telephone

The application has changed slightly: Russian letters have appeared on the dialing keys. Perhaps this will be useful to someone.

iOS 10 settings now have an option that allows you to use apps from the App Store to block numbers. Therefore, it will become easier to combat voice spam.

Users from Belarus will certainly appreciate the problem with dialing a plus by holding zero. Throughout the testing of the new OS version, the bug was not fixed and smoothly migrated to the final release.

Watch

Inspired by the Apple Watch, the developers decided to change the color scheme of the Clock application to dark. There's also a brand new menu item called Bedtime. This feature is designed to improve the sleep quality of iOS 10 users. You need to specify the desired wake-up time, the desired amount of rest and a number of other details, and your Apple device It will figure out on its own when to send you to bed. New alarm ringtones are included.

Photo

Literally with every update of the mobile operating system Apple systems Improves the Photos app. This time, facial analysis and recognition capabilities have been added. Now you can ask Siri to show you pictures of cars, and the system will accurately find them in your photo collection. Facial recognition works in a similar way.

The new Memories feature works really well. iOS 10 automatically groups events by date and location, creating cool visual presentations of various events from the photos in your feed. This whole thing can be edited.

By the way, image editing is now also improved. new level. The system's scanty photo editing capabilities have not gone away, but Apple has allowed tools from third-party applications to be added to them. So, you don't even have to launch Pixelmator separately: all the features are already at your fingertips when editing in the Photos app.

Notes

The application was thoroughly redesigned back in iOS 9. In the “top ten” it just got the ability co-editing notes and granting rights to view them to other users. Thus, the record keeping system in iOS 10 allows you to almost completely abandon alternatives in the form of third-party services.

Settings

iOS 10 system settings have received several changes. In particular, Siri settings are placed in a separate menu item. It is also possible to install additional dictionaries into the system, for example explanatory dictionary Russian language. It will be used to define the highlighted words.

From now on, you can limit the use of device memory by the Music application. If the built-in memory runs out, iOS 10 itself will delete those tracks for offline playback that you haven’t listened to for a long time.

Finally, we note one new picture for use as wallpaper.

Siri

The virtual assistant in iOS 10 has become smarter and, most importantly, has received support for third-party applications. Once developers update their programs, you will be able to use Siri in them. Typing a message on WhatsApp without touching your smartphone will soon become possible.

The updated female voice of Siri also attracts attention. It sounds much nicer. Moreover, Apple offers to install a male voice as an alternative. In general, Siri in iOS 10 is nothing but pleasing.

House

The management application of the same name debuts in iOS 10 smart home. Using the program, you can manage various gadgets and systems connected to a single home network. As before, the hub for Apple's smart home is Apple TV.

If the Home app isn't useful to you, at least you can uninstall it now.

App Store

There aren't many changes to the app store, but they are necessary. The nearly useless Browse menu has been removed, and in its place is a list of App Store categories. This change has been a long time coming, so it’s great that it’s been implemented.

Cards

Apple paid a lot of attention to updating Maps, or rather, their capabilities. Now, immediately after launching the application, you can specify the destination of the route; places that may be of interest to the user are also available to choose from. You can view the weather at a specific point on the map. The interface change deserves special attention. It has finally become driver-friendly thanks to its large elements. Fonts and animation have been updated.

Contacts

The application itself has not undergone any changes, but the contact cards have been seriously modified. Now any person in your address book presented much more conveniently: immediately below the photo and name there is a set of buttons for communicating with everyone accessible ways. Below is the familiar list of numbers and other information.

Music

The Music application, a client of the service, has changed significantly. The overloaded interface has been replaced by large, easy-to-use elements on the go. The “Media Library” tab has moved to the very beginning and is available immediately after launch - this was missing before. Moreover, you can also organize different categories for displaying music there.

The player itself has also changed: there is nothing superfluous on the screen anymore. All actions with a track, including downloading it to your device and adding it to your library, can now be performed from context menu. Working with “Music” has become simpler and clearer, the player is definitely more convenient for use on the move.

Health

The Health app appears in iOS 10 virtually unchanged. Only those who regularly look at the program will notice the slightly modified design.

Apple Watch and Activity

Owners of Apple smartwatches will certainly notice the improvement of the application for controlling the watch from a smartphone. From here you can now fully customize your watch faces. A frankly incomprehensible menu item with a set of promotional videos was removed. Now everything has become much more logical and convenient for the owner of the watch, and not for its potential buyer.

For a complete Apple works Watch needs to be updated to watchOS 3.

Mail

The email client in iOS 10 remains virtually unchanged. Now you can view message threads and filter out unread messages. Mailboxes are displayed full set folders and subfolders.

Safari

Mobile Safari browser I finally got a simple but useful ability to close all tabs at once. Apple Pay support has also appeared in the browser, because payment system The American company will now be represented on the Internet.

iPad owners will be pleased to be able to use dual-window mode to launch Safari. This way you can view two pages at once or transfer information from one to another. This is an important step for Apple tablets in an attempt to replace computers.

Other changes and innovations

Immediately after iOS installations 10, two points attract attention: the changed sound of the device locking and the updated sound of the keyboard. The new sounds do not seem alien, they perfectly correspond to the spirit of this version of Apple's mobile operating system and after a few minutes they cease to stand out from the general background.

If you actively use several Apple gadgets, you will appreciate the new clipboard that works between devices. Copied a piece of text on the iPhone and pasted it onto the Mac under macOS control Sierra. The mutual integration does not end there: in the application iCloud Drive on iOS 10, the desktop and documents folder of your Mac computer.
