Which Wi-Fi router should I choose for Beeline home Internet? Smart Box from Beeline How to set up a Beeline white dot router.

Home / Browsers

The purpose of this guide is to write the most comprehensive and detailed instructions on how to set up Wi-Fi D-Link router DIR-300 NRU for working with the Beeline provider. We will tell you step by step how to connect the router and what settings on your computer you should pay attention to, how to set up an L2TP connection for Beeline, as well as wireless network settings. We will separately touch on the configuration of Beeline television. In general, the goals have been set, let's begin.

Before you start setting up the DIR-300

First of all, I will note for which ones wireless routers This instruction is written, it is completely suitable for:

  • D-Link DIR-300NRU B5 (Firmware 1.4.3, 1.4.9)
  • D-Link DIR-300NRU B6 (Firmware 1.4.3, 1.4.9)
  • D-Link DIR-300NRU B7 (firmware 1.4.8 or other 1.4)

Finding out which version of the router you have and which firmware you have is quite easy - just look at the sticker on the back of it.

The next thing to talk about is the firmware Wi-Fi router A. You don't have to do this, but it is possible that without the latter, or at least relatively new firmware Your router will not work very stable, especially with Beeline. The latest firmware for D-Link DIR-300NRU routers has the index 1.4.x - we will consider the settings for this firmware here. You can read about how to update the router firmware in the “Firmware” section on this site, and also see it in the video below.

I also note that if your router has firmware 1.3.0 or another 1.3 installed and you do not plan to update it, you can also use this guide - setting up the router is the same, all you need to do is click “Configure manually” ", further setup steps are no different.

Beeline firmware - the one that is offered for installation on the provider's official website - is not something that I can recommend. You can install it, but, if necessary, returning the factory firmware version from D-Link is not a trivial task.

Connecting D-Link DIR-300 to a computer

I hope this will not be difficult for you - the Beeline cable is connected to the Internet port on the back of the router, and the router is connected to the computer using the network cable that is included with the device. After this, you just need to plug the router into a power outlet.

Note: do not start the Beeline connection on your computer after you have started setting up the router - neither before nor after. IN otherwise, you will get the situation that users most often encounter - there is Internet on the computer, but it connects via Wi-Fi, but does not work. The thing is that from now on (after the setup is completed), the connection will be established by the router itself, and then “distributed” to other devices, and if you start the Internet on your computer, the router will not be able to install it. In general, remember: do not launch the Internet on your PC during and after setting up the router, the Internet will be available via local network.

  1. In Windows 7 and Windows 8, go to Network Sharing Center and shared access, then select “Change adapter settings” on the left. Right-click on the local connection with which you are connected to the router, click “Properties” and go to the third item.
  2. In Windows XP, go to Control Panel - Network Connections and right-click on the local connection icon, select "Properties" in context menu and move on to the next step.
  3. In the list of components used by the connection, select Internet Protocol Version 4 TCP/IPv4 and click the Properties button at the bottom right.
  4. Make sure that the IP address and DNS server addresses are obtained automatically (as in the picture), if this is not the case, bring it into compliance.

Setting up an L2TP Beeline connection on a D-Link DIR-300 router

The first and main task when setting up a Wi-Fi router is to force it to establish a connection to the Internet instead of a computer. The Beeline Internet provider uses a connection using the L2TP protocol, which is what we will configure now.

Note: if you have previously tried to configure yourDIR-300, but unsuccessfully, reset it to factory settings - to do this, press and hold (with the router turned on) the buttonReset the back for 10 seconds, then release it.

First of all, launch your favorite browser and enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar and press Enter - as a result, you should be prompted for a login and password to enter the router settings interface. Enter the standard values for the D-Link DIR-300 NRU router - admin in both fields.

The next thing you will see is a request to change the factory password, and then the main router settings page, where we will perform all the actions.

On the next page, click the "Add" button.

Now the most important thing is to configure the L2TP connection parameters for Beeline in the router. Fill in the fields as follows:

  • Connection type - L2TP + Dynamic IP
  • Name - any connection name, not used anywhere, can not be changed
  • Username and password - your Beeline data
  • VPN server address - tp.internet.beeline.ru
  • The rest of the data does not need to be changed: if you have any doubts, simply copy it from the image shown - it shows the working parameters for Beeline.

Click the "Save" button. After this, you will again see a page with a list of connections, where the connection you just created will be located and it will be terminated. There will also be an indicator at the top of the page notifying you that the router settings have been changed and need to be saved. Do this (i.e., we save the total twice - this is necessary so that after turning off the router from the network, the settings are not reset).

Wait a minute and refresh the page. If you did everything correctly and did not forget to turn off the Internet on your computer, then you will see that the newly created Beeline connection is in the “Connected” state - i.e. Internet from this computer is already available. All that remains is to configure the wireless network settings, set a Wi-Fi password and, if necessary, set up IPTV television.

Setting up a wireless network on D-Link DIR-300

In order to set up Wi-Fi on the D-Link DIR-300 router, on the router’s advanced settings page, in the Wi-Fi item, select “Basic settings”, then fill out the following fields:

  • SSID - here you should indicate the desired name of the wireless network, in Latin letters and numbers, you will see it when connecting to Wi-Fi from a laptop, phone or other device and it will allow you to distinguish your network from others.
  • The remaining points can be left unchanged. Click the "Edit" button

After that, on the same Wi-Fi tab, open the “Security Settings” item and fill it in as follows (recommended):

  • Network Authentication - WPA2-PSK
  • PSK encryption key - the desired Wi-Fi password, at least 8 characters, Latin and numbers.
  • Click "Edit"
  • Click “Save Settings” next to the indicator at the top of the page.

That's all, the router is configured and now you can use the Beeline Internet from any device equipped with a Wi-Fi module.

Setting up Beeline television on DIR-300

In order to set up Beeline television (IPTV) on this router, no special skills are needed. Just go back to home page router settings at 192.168.0.1, select “IP television”, then indicate which port will be used to connect the Beeline TV set-top box. Click change, and then at the top - save. That's all, the TV setup is complete.

This technical guide will help you connect your router to the Internet with an L2TP wan connection type (for example Beeline). The router model doesn't matter. The only difference is different manufacturers routers, in the layout of settings functions and menu item names in the administrative mode of the device. The guide is suitable for all providers using L2TP connections!

Setting up the router

1. On the router, find the WAN port (usually the port is blue). We insert it into twisted pair from an Internet provider, which previously could have been connected directly to the computer if you had not previously used a router. Then we find several yellow LAN ports there. In any of them we insert network cable which came with the router, and the other end into the network card on the computer.

2. On a PC or laptop running OS Windows 7, open the section network settings: Start - Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network and Sharing Center - Management network connections— Changes in adapter parameters.

Right click click on the “Local Area Connection” item, go to “Properties”, then go to the Internet Protocol “TCP/IPv4” section and select the following items “IP automatically” and “ DNS servers automatically"

Click "OK".

3. On the router we look for the IP address that is used to enter the router settings (by default - 192.168.0.1), and login with password (often login: admin, password: admin)

4. Then in the browser we write 192.168.0.1 in the address bar (if it is the same on the router), and enter the login and password that we saw on the router.

6. In the “WAN Connection Type” column (Internet connection type), select “L2TP/Russia L2TP”/ We specify the login and password from the agreement with the provider. We indicate the server name: tp.internet.beeline.ru (or something else, also see in the contract). Save the settings.

7. Open the section “ Wireless network" and write our values for the points:

  • SSID - name of the wifi network.
  • Network Security - WPA2-Personal
  • Encryption - AES or TKIP
  • Secret key - Wi-Fi password, at least 8 characters.

8. Apply the settings. We log in from a device that should receive the Internet (it must have a Wi-Fi module). Click on the icon wireless connections(in the lower right corner of the Windows icons, next to the clock).
