Where does disk space go - solution. Uninstalling a Google Play Store update

Home / Browsers

I decided to touch on what I think is a relevant topic about mobile gadgets. The fact is that, when communicating with relatives, acquaintances, and friends, when it comes to smartphones or tablets, I understand that many do not know what to do correctly if the device’s memory runs out.

It would seem, what's going on here? I deleted what was unnecessary or transferred all the photos, videos and other data to some other device and that’s it, the job is done. In general, it’s really nothing complicated, but for some reason people often have trouble transferring their data :)

Time and time again I’ve been asked: “Vov, I’ve run out of space on my iPhone, what can I do, what can I delete what I don’t need?” And at the same time, some say: “Damn, I have 64 GB right now. memory, it’s over, you need to take a phone with 128 gigs...” And I immediately think: “Oh my, when you get 128 gigabytes, what’s next, should you buy a phone with 256 gigabytes? :))).” If such a model exists at all. Yes, and 256 GB. They will clog quickly if you constantly remove something.

For example. I attend a lot of all sorts of events (concerts mostly) and I record many of them for myself from beginning to end, so that I can see myself and the scene with the performer. So, such shooting often immediately consumes more than 30 gigs of memory. I have 32 GB on my phone. There is the same amount of memory + on the card. Let's imagine that I had a device with 128 GB. + 32 GB card. Then it turns out that you recorded 5 concerts and change your phone or buy it every time new map memory:))) Nonsense? Without a doubt!

In general, all this prompted me to write this article, where I want to explain how to properly free up space in a smartphone or tablet, where to put all your “stuff”, what ways there are for this...

What can take up the most space on your smartphone/tablet?

  1. The first and most important thing is photographs and videos. As a rule, this is what takes up most of the memory of your device and its memory card (if available).
  2. Applications. Some applications take up very little space, for example, up to 10 MB, and some from 100 MB. up to 500 and sometimes more (for example, some navigation maps). Therefore, the device can also be filled with applications :)

Everything else is system data, i.e. the system itself, for example, Android, iOS, Windows, as well as different files for her work. Well, all sorts of documents, books, which usually take up very little memory.

Option #1. Transfer all the necessary files to your computer and external hard drives

This is the very first and, perhaps, simplest thing that comes to mind when it comes to freeing up space on your mobile device.

The method is painfully simple: you just need to connect your gadget to your computer and transfer everything you need to its hard drives or to external hard drives connected to the computer.

By doing this, you free up space on your device and can fill it up again :)) And then on the computer you can do anything with the transferred data, for example, make movies from videos using special programs installation

Main advantage this method The point is that you send all your data in the original, i.e. without any changes, without reducing the resolution and overall quality of the photo / video.

The disadvantage can be called except that with all this “good” from your device you then take up space on hard drives computer and other disks, if there is not enough computer :) But it’s even difficult to consider this a disadvantage, because the data must be stored somewhere :)

What is needed to transfer information to a computer?

I won’t describe it here full instructions on transferring files from smartphones to a computer, since this is a different story... But in short, there is nothing complicated about it.

The device can be connected via USB cable to the computer and this is perhaps the most popular option:

  • If the device has an Android system, then everything is simple! Connect via cable and the device will immediately be visible in Windows in the “Computer” section, where you can open its built-in memory and memory card as regular local drives (such as drive “C”, “D”). In some individual cases, device drivers will be required to Windows system discovered him.
  • If the iOS system, i.e. If you want to transfer data from an iPhone or iPad, then the guys from Apple have complicated everything for some reason :) A cable connection to a computer will not be enough, you will need to install iTunes app and transfer data through it.

Also, no matter what system is installed on the device, you can upload all data to cloud storage, for example, Yandex Drive, Google Drive, Cloud Mail or any others. And then you can open all this from your computer and transfer it to it. All files will also be transferred in their original form. More on this separately in option No. 3 below...

Option #2. Automatically upload photos and videos to Google Drive cloud via the Google Photos app

This is a very cool way to save all the content from your mobile gadget! The bottom line is that there is a special application for mobile devices called Google Photos.

Through it you can set up auto-upload of all your photos and videos from your device to the cloud Google Drive. Those. Take a photo or video and it will be automatically uploaded to the cloud. Can be configured whether to use for downloading mobile internet or the download will only occur when a Wi-Fi network is connected.

And most importantly! Everything you upload through this application will not take up any space in your Google Drive cloud! This is just the coolest thing!!!

The only condition: in the application options, in the “Startup and synchronization” section, the “ High quality", not "Original Quality".

In this case, the photos will be uploaded at a maximum resolution of 16 megapixels (if the photo is with an even higher resolution, it will be reduced to 16 megapixels). And this is already an excellent resolution and is suitable even for printing photos measuring 60 by 40 cm.

And videos will be loaded in a maximum resolution of 1080p. Those. if more, then the resolution will be reduced to that value. Well, for example, you won’t be able to upload a video in 4K resolution :), but 1080p is also very cool!

I’ll tell you more about this service and how to use it in general in a separate article.

Let's highlight the advantages:

  • As the main indisputable advantage, I note that photos and videos are uploaded without taking up space either on your Google Drive or on your computer. Chicardos! :)
  • There is no need to constantly connect your device to your computer and manually transfer data, because it is automatically uploaded to the Google cloud via Google app photo.

About the disadvantages:

  • If you take advantage of downloading an unlimited number of photos and videos, they will not be downloaded in original quality and restrictions will be imposed. But in my opinion, these restrictions are nonsense for such a cool feature!
  • You can only upload photos and videos, we are not talking about any documents, book files and other junk from your device :) Everything else needs to be saved to your computer or somewhere else in other ways, but such files and space will no longer take up many.

Option #3. Uploading files to any “cloud” (Yandex Disk, Google Drive, Cloud Mail, etc.)

Here I mean the following... You can upload all your photos, videos and other documents to any cloud storage, for example, Google Drive, Yandex Drive, Cloud Mail and any others (I have listed the most popular ones). This can be done directly from your mobile device by opening the website the required service through a browser or by installing the application of one of the necessary cloud services and through it upload the necessary files to the cloud.

Plus The point here is that the files, as when using option 1, are loaded in the original, without reducing the resolution or overall quality in any way.

Minus- cloud storages are all limited in volume. This is logical, who will give you unlimited space for free :)) The exception is uploading via Google Photos as described in option 2.

As a result...

I don’t think that a good solution, if there is not enough space on the device, is to delete seemingly unnecessary photos and videos from memory. I would even say - a very bad idea! :) That’s why it’s usually impossible to isolate a lot of such “unnecessary” material from all the footage. Moreover, I already know from myself, already with experience, so to speak :), that what initially seems unnecessary can then suddenly shoot into your memory and you begin to think: “Damn! Well, why the hell did I delete it, where can I find a copy now, it was such a cool video, ehh...".

Don't do it so you won't regret it later :)

And from the main options listed above, you can already choose what suits you best. For example, I use method No. 1 (transfer to a computer) and combine it with the second method.

Thus, I keep all the original photos and videos on my computer and separate hard drives, since I shoot a lot of material. Then I use some materials to make films for memory. And Google Photos for me is an excellent opportunity from any device and from any place to see everything that I have ever photographed in a convenient chronological order + sorted by albums. It’s also very convenient when you need to show photos to someone, but they haven’t been in your smartphone for a long time.

What do you do when your device runs out of memory? :) Especially if these are gadgets from Apple. Share in the comments, let's discuss this topic! :)

Computer virtual memory is a standard feature of most operating systems. It has become so widespread because of its low cost with very great advantages. Let's look at what virtual memory actually is and what it is used for. Today in modern computers 64 or 32 MB and higher are allocated RAM at the disposal of the central processor. Most often, this amount of memory is not enough for normal operation all programs that are required high speed. For example, if you simultaneously download email, several programs, text editor and a Web browser, then the memory capacity will most likely not be enough.

And if it weren't virtual memory, then the computer would prompt us to close one or more running programs for further work. When virtual memory is used, the computer finds data in RAM that is lately have not been used and copies them to hard drive. This operation will free up some space in RAM for downloading new applications.

Since the copying is done automatically to the hard drive, many users are not even aware of what is happening, but simply think that their computers have unlimited RAM, even if only 32 MB of RAM is installed.
If the system starts accessing virtual memory frequently, the user will notice that the computer’s performance has dropped significantly. An important condition for ensuring normal operation is a sufficient amount of computer RAM for all applications with which the user has to work simultaneously - in in this case the slowdown in virtual memory performance will be noticeable only after a slight pause when changing tasks.

What to do if your computer's virtual memory runs out?

Sometimes, when working at a computer, on the taskbar in the right corner, the user may see a message stating that virtual memory is low and the system is running out of free virtual memory.
If it turns out that the computer is using memory without reserve, then in this case the amount of virtual memory can be increased. Memory in Windows is located in the page file (a file called pagefile.sys), and the operating system has the ability to change the settings for this memory. You need to follow these steps:

  • open Control Panel
  • more Systems
  • Advanced tab

After that, in the Performance section, click the Settings button. Next, in the Performance Options window, select the Advanced tab. A section called Virtual Memory will show you the amount of memory that is available in given time. To change the settings, click the Change button. It is recommended to set the value to 1.5 or 2 times the specified volume. For example, with a memory capacity of 2 GB, the maximum file size can be set to 4096 MB.

How to clear computer virtual memory?

Clearing virtual memory is necessary to preserve the confidentiality of the data that remains in the paging file. In general, the paging file cleaning function is disabled. For it to start working, you need to do the following:

  1. go to the Start menu, then Settings => Control Panel.
  2. Next, in the Control Panel window, open Administrative Tools.
  3. In the window that opens, select the Local Security Policy folder.
  4. A window called Local Security Settings will open. In the list, select Shut down: clear virtual memory file, right click mouse click and select Properties.
  5. In the Properties window, select Disable, then Apply and OK
  6. The status will be changed to Enabled

After this, the computer should be rebooted 2 times; after the 2nd reboot, the paging file will be cleared.

Another way to clear virtual memory:

If, when working on a computer, you often see the “Insufficient virtual memory” window, by analogy with RAM, a solution naturally suggests itself - you need to clear the virtual memory. This is not the right decision. The problem of lack of virtual memory is solved by completely different methods. But if you are concerned about the safety of your secret information: logins, passwords, and so on, then the page file, also known as virtual memory, really needs to be cleared.

Instructions
1 Click the Start button. Select Run. In the resulting line, type regedit. You have opened the editor system registry, with which you need to be especially careful.2 Consistently opening the drop-down menu of folders, by clicking on “+” we go to the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management.3 On the right we find the line “ClearPageFileAtShutdown”. Select it and right-click the menu, select “Change” and enter “1” in the “Value” field. Thus, after each restart of the computer, the virtual memory, and more specifically the page file, will be cleared.

4 The second solution to the problem, which will lead to the same result, is the following. Click the Start button and find Control Panel.

5 Select the items “Administration”, “Local Security Policy”, “Security Settings”, the line “Shutdown: clearing the virtual memory page file”. Right-click the menu, select Properties, and check Enable.

6 Click “Apply”, then “OK”. Restart your computer.

For Windows 7

To enable automatic virtual memory paging file cleanup during shutdown Windows operation 7, let's use the local security policy editor.

1. Log into Windows 7 with administrator rights.

2. Open the Start menu, type in the search bar and press Enter.

3. In the left menu of the local security policy editor, open Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Settings.

4. In the right part of the window, find and double-click the line Shutdown: Clearing the virtual memory page file.

This security setting determines whether the virtual memory page file is cleaned up when the system shuts down.

5. On the tab Local security setting select .

When enabled, this security setting clears the page file when the system shuts down gracefully, and also clears the hibernation file (hiberfil.sys) when hibernation is disabled.

6. Click OK.

Older smartphone models are overpriced. We all understand perfectly well that the price difference between 16 GB and 32+ GB models is unreasonably large. We are talking about the iPhone and the whole variety of flagship Android representatives. As a result, a person takes a junior model with 16 gigabytes of storage on board in the hope that this will be enough. But often reality does not live up to his expectations.

What eats up memory on a smartphone

First you need to understand that the amount of memory in the device indicated by the manufacturer is not the same as user accessible memory capacity. That is, in practice, we always have less memory available to us than is written on the package, and this is true for both the iPhone and the Android family.

In both cases operating system The device takes up 2-3 GB of memory, and it is impossible to return it to the user’s disposal - this space is needed for the operation of the device.

So when you're looking for new smartphone, then consider this: 16 GB is actually approximately equal to 13 GB, and 32 GB is, at best, 29-30 GB.

In the future, the amount of memory remaining for the user will be encroached upon. installable applications and games. Screens are getting better, the picture should be of better quality, the graphics should be cooler - this seriously makes applications heavier.

Moreover, over time installed applications will get fat, accumulating in memory cache data- this is everything that remains in the device while the application is running and after it is closed. Any application that receives content from the Web stores it on the device for faster delivery to the user. Watch YouTube and get cached videos. Listen to music online - it is cached locally. Surf the Internet via Chrome - pages visited in the browser are cached.

If you have Android and find yourself in a situation where you urgently need to get a few hundred megabytes of space for videos or photos, then clear the cache data.

Settings -> Memory -> tap on Cache data.

You can also selectively clear the cache of individual applications.

Settings -> Applications -> tap on the thick application -> Clear cache.

iOS does not have such standard tools, but there are third-party utilities.

These days, 1 GB for one game already seems quite acceptable. Periodic cleaning games with a preliminary question to yourself: “Will I play this again?” will help you get rid of boring and unnecessary toys that continue to take up a fair amount of memory. The same is true for any other applications. Didn't like the app? Do you plan to use it in the future? Delete it, don’t just keep it on your device.

Music downloaded by the user to the device It's getting better and better. Some people no longer accept 320 kbit mp3 and only want flac. Such tracks take up several times more space on the device.

Consider whether the headphones you are using will provide enough sound quality for you to feel the difference? Perhaps an average quality mp3 will be enough?

If we are talking about photos and videos, then it's even worse. Top current smartphones have 8+ megapixel cameras that can shoot FullHD video at high frame rates and take very high-resolution photos. Such photos and videos take up a lot of space. For example, 1 hour of 1080p video can take up 10 GB of space on your smartphone.

There are virtually no options with captured videos. They need to be periodically moved from a mobile device to a computer for subsequent storage or placement on video hosting.

Can help with storing photos mobile application Dropbox - it has a function to automatically transfer pictures from the device’s memory to the cloud.

And yet, the more technologically advanced our mobile devices, the more space will be required for applications and content. Manufacturers understand this, and often meet the user halfway by building a slot for removable memory cards. Unfortunately, users of iPhone, Google phones and some other Android lines are deprived of this advantage. Google invites us to store all data on the Web.

This concept is also supported by many developers - now we have access to hundreds of thematic online services that provide content in the form of streaming. They are complemented by dozens cloud storage. In this case, the device’s memory will be clogged significantly less, but the requirements for the quality and speed of the mobile Internet will increase significantly.

All sorts of gadgets have recently become an integral part of the lives of many modern people. Most owners of smartphones and tablets with operating Android system sooner or later they face the problem of lack of memory. In budget models, its volume is, as a rule, no more than four gigabytes, but it should be taken into account that at least a quarter is occupied by the operating system itself.

All modern games, as well as high-quality photographs, music and films, require increasing amounts of available memory. So, at some point the user simply will not be able to install required application, download the necessary data. Absence free space also negatively affects the speed of the device itself. So how to free internal memory on Android? You can move files to external media and optimize the performance of your smartphone.

What fills the empty space?

When figuring out how to free up the internal memory of an Android phone, you should pay attention to several points. Certain methods may be effective in some cases, but completely inappropriate in others.

Before you free up internal memory on Android, you need to understand where the data filling the device comes from. Here are some of the most common options:

  • saving photos, music and videos;
  • data used in social media sharing;
  • audio from a voice recorder;
  • data downloaded via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi;
  • applications from Play Store a, located in the device’s memory.

How to prevent files from being saved to the device memory?

To prevent the problem from recurring from time to time in the future, you need to redirect the download of files from the device memory to other media. For example, to a memory card (SD card). To do this, you should change the save path settings in the settings of some applications:

  • camera options;
  • voice recorder options;
  • Browser download space;
  • location of cached files from applications;
  • regulation of messengers;
  • regulation of bootloader programs;
  • regulation of GPS navigation maps.

In all of the above settings, the path to a specific folder (or several folders: separately for music, videos, pictures and files) must be specified, which is located on the memory card.

How to move data?

It is better to move files from the device memory to a memory card in similar folders. If there are none, you can create them using any file manager, which is downloaded from the Play Store, or by connecting the device to the computer via a cable. Moving to places with similar standard names will avoid unnecessary confusion. Folders usually have the following names:

  • Bluetooth;
  • DCIM;
  • download;
  • media;
  • movies;
  • music;
  • video;
  • sounds.

Transferring files, as well as creating new folders, can be done in two ways: directly by the functions of the device itself or using a computer. You should not transfer data whose purpose is in doubt. Moving program files may cause device malfunctions, you should be aware of this before freeing up space on the internal memory of Android.

How to transfer files directly to the device?

To transfer pictures, music and videos directly to the device, it is better to use a file manager. The ES conductor is simple and reliable to use. The main function of the manager is precisely to work with folders and files. This file manager is very lightweight, does not take up the already small amount of memory, and is convenient.

To transfer the necessary data, you need to select it with one long press. When choosing the “move” action, click on “SD-card”. The advantage of this file manager is that the menu allows you to immediately create new folders for transferring files.

How to transfer files using a computer?

In order to clear the internal memory of Android using a computer, you need to connect the device to it using a USB cable. To be able to manage data on a smartphone or tablet, the PC must have specialized programs and drivers. As a rule, such software is installed automatically, but you need to wait a little while the computer determines the type of device and finds the appropriate drivers on the network.

Problems that arise when transferring files using a PC are easily resolved free service AirDroid, which provides the ability to work with the device at a distance by connecting to Wi-Fi networks. Firstly, this is good because you don’t need to install any additional programs or drivers to recognize your smartphone or tablet. Secondly, this service Provides connection between devices over a distance longer than a cable.

And yet, how to free system memory on Android via a computer using this method? Everything is very simple here - data management is possible through any browser.

How to move apps to SD card?

How to free up internal memory on Android to unload devices? Let us note right away: this is not an easy task. The reason is that in order to carry out this operation for applications, as a rule, you need to have special rights, namely administrator rights, which will allow you to fully manage all files.

You can obtain administrator status by installing an additional software or changing smartphone settings. In the latter case, everything is much simpler. Devices whose settings can be set to “developer mode” allow you to perform many actions that are not available ordinary users, for example, install a fake localization.

If administrator access is already enabled, you should next install the Link2Sd application. It allows you to transfer both installed additional and standard applications from the device memory to the memory card. But here you need to remember that such actions can lead to malfunctions of the device.

Without administrator rights, you can only move some applications. This action can be performed in the device settings. But the standard method is not very convenient, and if you don’t want to change the settings, it’s better to download Android app Assistant.

Android Assistant consists of eighteen tools for versatile work with Android. Directly transferring applications is carried out as follows: open the program, go to the “Toolkit” section and select “App2Sd”. A list of applications that can be transferred will open.

Also using this application you can perform a comprehensive removal, which will help optimize and increase the speed of the device.

How to clean your device from unnecessary debris?

By following the above steps, you can make significant progress in the process of clearing your memory. Once you have set the correct settings, you most likely will not have to do all the steps again from time to time. But you will have to use information on how to free up internal memory on Android by removing garbage often. So, by installing a special application (for example, Clean Master), you can make the cleaning process quick and easy.

The so-called garbage in the device, which occurs through the accumulation of cached data from the Internet, browser history, and applications, is a very common phenomenon. Periodic cleaning allows you to increase the free space on your device and speed up all actions.

If we look at cleaning a device from debris using the example of the most optimal and convenient program Clean Master, then there will be no difficulties in using it. You just need to select the “garbage” option and click “clean”. The application, conducting an in-depth analysis, makes sure to specify which files should not be deleted.

How to store files on the Internet?

To free up internal memory on Android 4.2, you can use so-called cloud storage. They allow you not only to store files, but also to open them using various devices. Having installed an application of this type on a smartphone, to gain access to the data you will only need to register (when you turn it on for the first time), and then enter your username and password in the future.

Important when working with cloud storage and permanent access to the Internet, because the data is located in “virtual memory”. Among the most successful cloud storages are Google Drive, Mega storage, "Yandex.Disk" or Dropbox.

How to completely clean the device?

To radically clear the device memory, you need to do complete removal all data. The action is performed using the “Format” option. As a rule, this item is located in the device settings in the “” tab. Backup and data reset." After confirming the user’s intentions and deleting the data, the device will reboot and take on its original appearance, that is, the smartphone will be missing everything that was installed and downloaded after purchase.

In general, the instruction “How to free up memory on Android” includes several steps, some of which are interchangeable. Consistent execution of various types of actions will lead to an increase in free space, which certainly entails optimization of the device.

Among users computer technology There is an opinion that you can never have too much... And you can’t argue with this, dear reader, especially when it comes to modern machines whose hardware configuration corresponds to solid specifications, and the Windows system installed on board the PC is a 64-bit version. However, the “sick” problem of many is “ physical memory computer is loaded, what should I do” - still continues its inglorious existence, perplexing the average user and sometimes forcing an experienced computer guru to rack his brains over solving the “lack of RAM” problem. However, we will not delve into the extreme complexity of “operational misunderstandings” and will resort to simple but effective methods of diagnosing and optimizing the computer swap system. Well, the article promises to be memorable. RAM secrets are waiting to be revealed!

Guard, the computer's physical memory is loaded!

What to do and how to deal with it? Probably, these are the questions that come to the user’s mind when he becomes an involuntary witness to monstrous inhibition operating system Windows.

  • With each subsequent turn on of the PC, the startup of the OS becomes slower and slower.
  • The clickability of the operating system at startup and during use becomes unbearable due to the “long waiting process.”
  • The once “flying” applications, to put it mildly, take a long time to start.
  • Incomprehensible service messages attack the monitor with their “unobtrusive” presence.

In general, any of the above scenarios (not to mention their complex manifestations) can quickly drive any user crazy. But not everyone who is “expecting” understands that everything described above may be the result of our own omissions. And it’s unlikely that the average user even knows how to make sure that the computer’s physical memory is loaded?

What should you do first if your PC loses performance?

Of course, first of all, you need to diagnose the system. Moreover, everything necessary for this is provided in advance by Microsoft developers. Well, it's time to move on to the practical part of our story.

  • Right-click on the taskbar (the lowest area of the screen).
  • From the drop-down list, select “Manager...”.
  • Once in the work area of the service window of the same name, use the “Performance” tab.

  • A visually presented graph will allow you to evaluate your RAM. If Vista or a later version of Windows OS is installed on your PC, then the value of memory used should not exceed 70-75% of the total nominal value of the physical swap. IN otherwise it is necessary to unload the RAM area.

Memory problems start from the start of the OS

When you observe that your computer's physical memory is loaded at 80% or above this value, pay attention to startup. Most likely at the moment Windows startup the mentioned service activates many background applications and various software. Often, it is for this reason that the RAM becomes overloaded, literally “torn” between requests from multiple programs to allocate the amount of memory they need to operate. However, such an unpleasant situation can be corrected quite easily.

  • In the launcher search bar Windows menu enter the command “msconfig”.
  • After pressing the “Enter” button, you will be taken to the “System Configuration” service menu.
  • Activate the “Startup” tab and edit the priority list of startup software.

You will be surprised how quickly your OS will boot after a system restart. Nothing prevents you from making sure in practice that the problematic situation when the computer’s physical memory is loaded on Windows 7 will be exhausted after you remove all unnecessary things from startup.

How to clear RAM: two “fundamental” optimization methods

Let's start with the main thing - you need to disable unused software. Typically, in order to see exactly which programs are running in background, you need to look into a special area of the OS - the system tray - and directly from there (by pointing the marker at the object and right-clicking) deactivate the selected software. It may well turn out that immediately after you implement the proposed recommendation, the question “The physical memory of the computer is loaded, how to clear it” will be completely resolved. After all, some applications running are incredibly “gluttonous” in terms of using system RAM resources.

Another way to free up memory

So, in order to see which programs or utilities are “secretly” consuming the kilo- and megabytes of RAM you need so much, do the following:

  • Press the key combination “Alt+Ctrl+Del”.
  • After you get to the service window that is already familiar to you, open the “Processes” tab.
  • Analyze the list presented and use manual correction to turn off the background application that you do not need at the moment.

However, you should not rush to deactivate “aggressive items”, since disabling some critical Windows services can have a detrimental effect on the overall stability of your OS.

“Miracle” RAM optimizers

When the physical memory of the computer is 90 percent loaded (from the earlier section of the article you learned that such a value is a deviation from the norm), some users rush to clear the RAM area using various utilities. However, not many of them realize that this type of RAM optimization is a waste of time, since they do not contribute anything concrete to solving the problem. The “promising functionality” of such optimizers only creates the illusion that memory is freed up, while introducing some difficulties into the operation of the OS... Rest assured: the manual method is much more effective and more expedient to implement than imaginary “help” from third-party developers. By the way, we advise you to simply forget about this (second) method of RAM optimization...

Malicious code and methods for detecting it

Often the user asks the question: “The physical memory of the computer is loaded: is it a virus or not?” This problem is especially acute when all the above actions have been implemented in practice. What's the matter and why does RAM continue to lose its working potential? Let's figure it out.

  • Download one from the Internet antivirus utilities: Dr.Web CureIt!, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware or HitmanPro.
  • After running application will finish scanning the system, infected objects will be cleaned, and malicious viruses will undergo the removal process.

It is worth noting that the traditional antivirus installed on your PC is not always able to fully protect your system from penetration and the subsequent negative impact of one or another “digital infection.” Therefore, it makes sense to check your OS using the above utilities.

When the amount of RAM corresponds to the concept “NOT TOO”

If you are working in Word and at the same time listening to music using an Internet browser, and you see that the physical memory of the computer is 77% loaded, there is no reason to worry. But if things are different, it makes sense to look at the problem from a technical point of view and ask some questions: how many RAM modules are installed on your PC and what are their nominal “capabilities”? It is worth noting an important fact: depending on the version of the Windows system used, the requirements for the amount of RAM can vary from 256 MB to 2 GB (only for the “needs” of the operating system itself). Well, if you still decide to use a resource-intensive program on a computer with limited RAM, then it’s time to think about expanding

Summing up

So, with some confidence we can say that the once difficult situation for you “the physical memory of the computer is loaded, what to do” has now been resolved. Nevertheless, one important “operative” point is still worth mentioning.

  • If you are using Windows Vista, the seventh OS or later versions of the Microsoft product, then if you do not have enough RAM, you can try disabling the Superfetch service.

And one last thing: don’t miss the opportunity to upgrade your PC - adding an additional RAM module will significantly expand the functionality and “combat capability” of your computer equipment. Don't let your computer fall into unconsciousness!
